The influence of glue dispensing, mixing and injection technology on adhesion

(1) The effect of the correct ratio on the adhesion. The two-component insulating glass sealant should be measured according to the proportion provided by the supplier's product manual, strictly measured, and the ratio is correct. After each component is mixed with each other, the product generated by the reaction plays the expected performance, and when the metering ratio is not accurate, two situations occur: ① The curing speed is slow, or even not curing, the hardness after curing is small, the surface is always sticky, ② the curing speed is too fast, which affects the wetness of the glue on the surface of aluminum and glass, the glue is hard and brittle after curing, the elasticity is lost, and the aging resistance is poor. These two situations are bound to affect the cohesion strength of the glue or the adhesion of the glue to aluminum and glass.

(2) The influence of the amount of glue each time on the adhesion. The amount of glue should be determined according to the application period, season, environmental temperature and humidity, construction conditions, and the actual amount of glue used each time, otherwise, the one-time glue is too much, and once the mixed glue exceeds its application period, the glue itself solidifies, and the adhesion with aluminum and glass is greatly reduced.

(3) The influence of whether the mixture is uniform on the adhesion. The two-component insulating glass sealant should be mixed uniformity butterfly test before gluing, otherwise, a certain part of the mixed glue is too much or too little, which affects the expected performance of the glue after curing, thus affecting the cohesion strength of the glue and its adhesion to aluminum and glass.

(4) The influence of mixing process and injection process on adhesion.

① Single-component insulating glass sealant can be injected by manual or pneumatic sizing gun. When using the pneumatic gun, the operating pressure (prepared air pressure is 0.1 ~ 0.6MPa) should be adjusted to prevent bubbles from being injected, thus affecting the bonding strength.

(2) The two-component insulating glass sealant should be used in the two-component gluing machine. Manual mixing is not recommended, because manual mixing will inevitably wrap the air into the glue, the air becomes a porosity in the cured glue, becoming a stress concentration point, and the bond tensile failure often starts from the porosity.

③ The diameter of the nozzle of the glue gun should be less than the thickness of the interface, so that the nozzle reaches the interface 1/2 depth of extrusion glue, extrusion action should be continuous, the nozzle should move slowly at a constant speed, and its speed should always ensure that the extruded glue is in front of the nozzle, that is, "pushing the glue" movement, rather than "pulling the glue" walk, so as to ensure that the interface is full of sealant. To prevent the nozzle from moving too fast or reciprocating sizing resulting in bubbles or holes.

④ After the completion of the glue injection, the sealant outside the interface should be compacted into the interface with the tool force in a timely manner, so that the glue is in contact with the side of the interface, to reduce the internal bubbles and holes, and to ensure that the glue is fully in contact with the aluminum and glass surfaces.
